Graphite Design International To Unveil 'YS-Power' Shafts
Hybrid of GDI's Popular 'YS' and Purple
Ice Shafts Provides
Competitive Advantages for Low- to
High-Handicap Golfers
(SAN DIEGO, California) -- Graphite Design International ("GDI") today announces that its new, much-anticipated "YS-Power" high-performance shafts for driver and fairway wood golf clubs will be unveiled in April.
YS-Power represents a breakthrough shaft, say officials at GDI, one of the three largest golf-club shaft manufacturers in the world.
The graphite YS-Power is a hybrid of GDI's popular YS and Purple Ice shafts, combining their best technological and design qualities. YS-Power shafts are engineered for optimal integration with clubheads from Callaway, Titleist, Cobra, Nike, MacGregor, Taylor Made, Cleveland, PING and other top brands.
YS-Power shafts are designed for players with high swing speeds, no matter the skill level. Its low torque and stiffer butt and mid section optimize the launch of the golf ball off the club . From there, golfers achieve lower backspin and greater accuracy. YS-Power technology benefits center and off-center hits.
Like the popular YS-5 through YS-10 shafts, as well as Purple Ice models, golfers playing with YS-Power shafts experience game improvement in the form of superior accuracy, distance, balance, control, trajectory, and impact feedback.
YS-Power shafts are easily identified by a fire-engine red band that circles the black-color shaft at the bottom of the grip.
"Graphite Design committed substantial resources to scientifically determine the cause and effect of the shaft, clubhead and golf ball marriage," says Keith Yagi, Chief Executive Officer of GDI. "We found the best combination of properties was already in our YS and Purple Ice lines. So, after testing different YS and Purple Ice design combinations with everyday golfers and PGA Tour players, the hybrid YS-Power was born."
The YS-Power shafts are available in R, S and X flexes and in 55, 65, 75, 85 and 95 grams. The MSRP is from $100.
As with all YS shafts, GDI engineers integrated the company's proprietary materials into the YS-Power shafts, which are unique for their industry-low resin content and high material-stiffness integration ("MSI") level. GDI's MSI design technique benefits the basic specifications of weight, balance point, flex (tip and butt of the shaft) and frequency.
About Graphite Design International
GDI was established in Japan in 1988, its U.S. operation in San Diego in 1998. GDI made its mark manufacturing high-performance shafts for most of golf's major OEMs worldwide, including the top four companies by sales volume.
GDI's trademarks are revolutionary technology, design and sourcing the most advanced materials so GDI shafts are of highest quality and performance. This led GDI to brand its own shafts -- the graphite YS and Purple Ice models and the multi-metal GAT shafts -- since 2000.
GDI shafts were in the clubs of 43 Tour
winners worldwide in 2002, including two of the five highest-ranked
golfers in the world. Roughly 40 percent of PGA Tour players use
GDI shafts each week.
