Others have rushed to get belly putters out and are using standard weight putter heads and simply using a longer putter shaft.

Belly putters and long putters require a clubhead weight of at 425g and up (most traditional putters are approx. 325-350g) to get the best impact characteristics.

If you're using a standard putter head and adding an extension, or a longer shaft to make a belly putter/long putter, performance will not be optimized.
